Fund the Future!

Breakthrough supports multiple scholarship opportunities for Breakthrough students!

Legacy Scholarship Fund

In honor of our 20th Anniversary in 2015, Breakthrough announced the creation of a Legacy Scholarship Fund to support Breakthrough student alumni beginning with the high school class of 2020 through the unexpected challenges of college completion after sophomore year.

The fund will award a total of $20,000 per year to Breakthrough student alumni who are rising juniors enrolled in and achieving at a 4-year colleges. Scholarship amounts will be need-based and range from $2,000 - $10,000.

You can support their college success by contributing to an existing fund, or by starting one of your own.

Benoliel Alumni Scholarship Fund

Created through a Challenge Grant from board member Amy Branch and her husband D. Jeffry Benoliel, donations to this fund from student and teacher alumni and parents will be matched 1:1.  When the fund reaches $10,000, Amy and Jeffry will donate an additional $10,000!  Are you up for the challenge?  Support the Benoliel Alumni Scholarship Fund.

The Peggy Greenawalt Scholarship Fund

Created in honor of Peggy Greenawalt, founding and current board member, the fund pays tribute to the deep and sustaining impact that Peggy continues to have on Breakthrough's success.  Honor Peggy and Fund the Future.

Donald C. Meyer Scholarship Fund

Donald Meyer was an artist with works of art in museums and private collections. (The painting to the left is part of a series titled Americanist Paradigm) He was well known in the artistic community for his involvement in arts organizations and his encouragement of other artists. He had an avid interest in reading and learning and absorbing and analyzing and adapting. Breakthrough’s unique “Students Teaching Students" model provides an environment that supports and encourages creativity and risk taking, and the Scholarship Fund would appeal to Donald as a way to encourage others to complete their education.    Honor Donald and Fund the Future.

The Richard and Cheryl Wade Scholarship Fund

Dick and Cheryl Wade live their values. Breakthrough owes its success to their steadfast guidance, support, energy, and enthusiasm. The Wades lead by example, including, notably, sharing their home for many summers with Breakthrough intern-teachers. Their extraordinary passion for young people and our program is contagious. Honor Dick and Cheryl and Fund the Future.
