MATT GREENAWALT
Co-Dean of Faculty, Summer Program
Matt currently serves as our summer Co-Dean of Faculty. Matt is passionate about strengthening teacher pedagogy, helping teachers build stronger connections with their students, and developing equitable classroom protocols to support and challenge all learners. Matt spent fifteen years as a math teacher and assistant principal in the Bronx and Manhattan. He was a New York City Education Update Outstanding Educator of the Year award recipient in 2010. Matt now works at Germantown Friends School as a middle school math teacher.
Matt is a graduate of Williams College. He received a Master’s in Education from the City College of New York and a Master’s in Math Leadership from Bank Street.

Fun Fact
I was a Breakthrough Teaching Fellow in the summer of 2003. It was because of this experience that I decided to become a teacher!
